This policy explains what information the Parlo app handles. In it, "we" means Quiet Fox Labs. We keep it to what the app needs to work.
Who is responsible for your data
Parlo is provided by Quiet Fox Labs, the controller of your personal data. Contact us at support@quietfoxlabs.com for any privacy question or request.
Information we collect
- Account details. If you create an account: your email address, display name and a password (held by our sign-in provider, not visible to us), or your Google account identifier if you use Google sign-in.
- Learning progress and settings. Completed lessons, flashcard progress, chosen languages and preferences. This is stored on your device.
- Microphone and speech. If you use speaking practice, the app uses your microphone and your device's speech-recognition service to check your pronunciation. We do not store your recordings. The speech service of your device (for example Apple or Google) processes the audio under its own privacy policy.
- Notifications. Study reminders are scheduled on your device, and only if you turn them on.
- Purchases. If you subscribe, Apple or Google handles the payment. We receive confirmation of your plan, not your payment details.
How we use it
To sign you in, run the app, provide your plan and answer support requests. We do not sell your data and we do not show third-party advertising.
Services we use
We use Google Firebase (for example Authentication) to run sign-in. Firebase may process technical data such as IP address and device information. See Google's privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
We keep account details while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time: see how to delete your account.
Children
Parlo is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect their data. Contact us if you think a child has created an account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU or UK under GDPR), you may ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to its use. Email support@quietfoxlabs.com.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
